Chasta Hamilton is the Owner and Artistic Director of Stage Door Dance Productions in Raleigh, NC and the former founder and editor of The Dance Exec, an online resource and seminar series for dance educators that TutuTix acquired in 2016. She is a Park Scholarship Alumna of North Carolina State University where she is a 2007 summa cum laude graduate with a degree in Arts Applications and Administration (Emphasis: Theatre) and a minor in Film Studies.
With two studio locations and 600 students, Chasta believes in empowering and inspiring children through the art of dance education. Stage Door Dance features all inclusive programming and an Intensive Training Program founded on the principles of technique, performance, community, and character. Her students have appeared in the Matilda National Tour, The King and I and A Bronx Tale on Broadway, and numerous local and regional productions. Recently, the students organized, planned, and presented a benefit show which raised over $7.500 to fund a clean water well in Uganda via Global H2O.
In addition to her work with Stage Door Dance, Chasta regularly directs and choreographs in the local theatre community. She also enjoys serving on the Leadership Council of the Junior League of Raleigh and the Regional Selection Committee for the Park Scholarship Program as well as the Board of Directors for North Carolina Theatre and Theatre In The Park. She holds certifications from Dance Masters of America and Dance Educators of America. Her recognitions include: the Goodman Award for Regional Leadership Excellence in the Area of the Arts (2012) and Triangle Business Journal‘s 40 Under 40 (2014) and Women In Business’ Future Star (2016).
